to the greatest: my Maker and his Helper.

`__though nowhere close to perfect, or even normal,
at the end of the day, I'm glad that you're mine//

Mum is right- God is great.
He gives children to the ones who deserve them, be it accidental or on purpose.
To me, those who are born the more traditional way, I think the parents somehow deserve it. To either teach their children great lessons that needs to be passed down, or to be taught a lesson by God's greatest miracles themselves.

And those accidental babies- bastards, are the ones who are going to be an impact on the lives around them; they are going to change the very people that raise them.
Take the story Juno, for example. Her baby, though made by accident, was given to the right person at the end of the day.
So even though Vanessa couldn't conceive her own child, God, and Juno, both thought that she deserved one.
And like mum said, those who deserve children will have children. They may not be the ones coming right out of your own vagina, but somehow, they're yours.

God's awesome in picking out the ones who'll be a mother to those whose mums aren't all that great, and at the same time, making sure that the ones who wish they had children, to discipline and make perfect, but dare not raise any WON'T get any.

Perfect children. Pffft. WHO has ever heard of any? FYI, those who seem perfect in their parents' eyes tend to be the ones who are more likely to be keeping secrets while doing objectionable acts. They let their parents see what they want them to see, but give a few years and they'll burn out and unleash the rebel that the parents themselves have created over the years.

I'm not making much sense here, but please bear with me. I am rather offended right now.
Apparently, my mother's skills and techniques of raising children have been questioned.
I mean yeah she lets me have a boyfriend at 18, and yeah she lets me club every once in awhile. Yes to occasional suppers and late nights out, tank tops and painted nails, and even to short skirts and having a rock band as a hobby.
But even with all that, I didn't turn out corrupted, I didn't turn out bad at all. Heck, I'm doing as well, if not, better, than the ones who SHE-who-claims-that-discipline
-and-curfews-and-no-freedom-and-being-tied-to-a-very-short-leash
-like-a-dog-is-the-only-way-to-raise-a-child.

Pffft.

"If I had kids, I would make them more discipline."

Hell, if you had kids, they'd probably run away from home at 12 to join the circus or even sign themselves up for adoption. Have you noticed that the ones who are being disciplined are the ones who are deprived, in more ways than one, as compared to lets say me? And these are the ones, in the absence of their parents, run wild- eat more junk, stay up late to watch cartoons, party like there's no tomorrow(literally).

Dad says that she's just sick. And she, I'm referring to a relative of mine who thinks that my mum is the only person who doesn't know how to raise children. And I think she's been trying to get a hold of us ever since we came out of the hospital the very first time.

Mummy, you are awesome. Don't ever change.
You know what? You should write a book on effective parenting.
Yeah.
The book'll probably hit it big time, and then we'll become rich, and then you can go backpacking in Europe and do voluntary work with my kid in the future. Heeeee.

Effective parenting.
Give your kid the freedom and space they need and want, so that they can learn.
Teach them all you need to, then let them fly.
Let them make their own mistakes, so that they'd remember not to do it again, and so that they'll have their own lessons to teach their children.
Watch them fly with a pair of eagle-eyed binoculars. When they make a mistake, come to their rescue.
Show them what they did wrong, but always let them learn how not to make the same mistake again. Know that your way isn't always the best way for them.
Trust them, judiciously.
Understand that your time and theirs is very different. VERY.
Though peer pressure and homework may seem familiar, times have changed, people have too. The amount of pressure now has increased, just like prices, just like education levels, just like global warming.
What I'm trying to say here is that, try to recall what it was like being a teenager, putting aside expectations- how much you wanted to go out when you had a curfew 5 hours before any of your friends; how you wanted to share the new love of your life- a boy, with your parents but you know they'd disagree; how much you'd wanted to dance, sing, act, play in a rock band or paint for a living, but all they wanted you to do was study.
Think about all the times you sneaked past them, all the times you lied and ended up getting caught, and all the times you made your parents worry just because you didn't tell them where you went or with whom.
Think about it.
Do you want to be put in that same position? I know you're not gullible, but how much would you believe your kid? How much are they telling the truth?
And don't, for a second, think that your kid is well-raised and won't do you wrong. HAH.
Think again.

Trust me, this works. Proven :))

On a different note.
What's the point of placing a recycling bin at the void deck when it's not going to be cleaned out, or it is wide open so that Mr. Karang Guni and friends can rummage through and make a mess out of the place?
I'd rather just throw everything into that huge rubbish chute and contribute to global warming than to watch my, and the block's hard work go to waste, and these people benefit from it.

Pisses me off.
Completely.
